HANDY ATARI THINGS....................

To make some use of the  web space I rent, and in an effort to help other Atari users fix some problems, and generally maintain an interest in our favourite little grey boxes; I have started this page. From time to time I will be adding things so it will never be "finished", if you find something here that has helped you please drop me a mail ...if I get no replies I will assume no one has a use for it and I' ll replace it with something else, none of these programs were written by me and I take no responsibility for their usage .

KARATOS.ZIP A very simple Karaoke / midifile player never developed further.

MMM226.ZIP For the ST a midi file player with some surprises, at first glance it looks like a "kiddie" program, it plays a zillion file types and converts between several. It is worth checking the extensive key commands.

N0MEMTST.PRG Alters the NV ram on the ATARI FALCON to disable the long winded memory test on start-up.

SET_MTST.PRG If you find your life has lost it's sparkle without the test this will activate it again.

NO_TASTE.TOS You don't have to have a Falcon to get in on all this stopping the memory test fun, if you have tos 2.06 put this on a floppy, run it, say yes to the defaults [it's in German] if you then just leave the floppy in it will stop the test .

FINDER.ZIP Search through all the files in a folder or partition for a string of text or particular word.

ACP13.ZIP A Mod player for the ATARI FALCON that takes advantage of the DSP chip.

NEMESIS.LZH For ATARI FALCON owners with the nemesis board, this cpx has controls for the data and instruction caches, I have benefited using this to cure the printing problems that are encountered with some programs, because I use Videlity if I switched to "nem lo" I got a small flickering screen, I found just turning the instruction cache off I could print ok, then simply turn it on again .

PALRESTO.ZIP A combination of keys restore the screen colours after problem programs leave them odd.

STEFIX.PRG Atari released thousands of the first STE's with a howling bug in the operating system, place this in the auto folder on your hard drive or the floppies you use to boot, it fixes the problem of tos 1.60 not being able to boot into med rez after saving the desktop.

MEMSTE.ZIP Enables you to have a 2.5 meg memory configuration.

CORRECT.PRG Enables you to delete problem files that the operating system won't touch.

UUDWIN.ZIP If your PC friends have trouble decoding your uue attachments tell them to use this but better still if you use Newsie send them in mime.

Nview and Nconvert......  A freeware picture file viewer / modifier/ converter by Pierre-e Gougelet  this handles over 200 picture formats .
